Celebrating People and Possibility

Our Difference

At the JDF Foundation...

We’ve increasingly recognised how difficult it is for people, and organisations, to change. What this means is that so many traditional workshops focusing on organisational change, sales, communication, and leadership - amongst others - may inspire in the short-term, but are less effective over time.

Our difference at JDF is our proven multi-faceted approach to achieving long-term results. We have made it our life’s journey to facilitate, to coach, to challenge, to partner, to feed back, to walk alongside, to support, and to celebrate; with people, and organisations, who have chosen the challenging journey into new possibilities.

Organisational Culture is a function of the matrix of individual patterns of habitual behaviour. It is only when people shift, on an individual level, that organisational culture changes, over time. The most powerful cultural influence comes from the top. Whilst it is challenging to work with top people - as they are so busy and often don’t fully recognise their role in shifting the culture - their full engagement is the only way.

Our response to this is to work with key organisational players on an individual basis, over an extended period. One-on-one coaching, in combination with workshops and on-the-job observation and feedback, of individuals and teams, is now our proven approach to long-term effectiveness.

Apart from our practical and engaging approach we know that, in the absence of a ‘big enough reason why’, people will stay exactly where they are - endlessly preparing to live; ‘dreaming of one life, whilst living another’. This is an important insight as we know that, without the leverage of something that is so much more than where they are right now - together with the belief that it really is attainable - people will literally be stuck with what they have always had.

The same is true of organisations and teams. They need something to strive for, that is beyond results and bigger pay packages.

Delivering on our promise to individuals and organisations are our flagship processes such as ‘Living and Leading in Your Own Way’, and ‘Figuring Life’,  which continue to excel within a number of blue-chip organisations - Read more about these Workshops. What’s more, they are also the processes of choice for a number of external facilitators.

What’s Happening

JDF in Partnership with Rawdons Hotel in the Kwazulu Natal Midlands of South Africa

Right now the biggest news at the JDF Foundation is our partnership with Rawdons Hotel. Traditionally we have been running workshops and processes either in-company, or at in-town venues. Every now and then we have ventured into the country or to out-of-the-way venues, but it has proved difficult to sustain. Now, with our Rawdons partnership, we have a dedicated partner who is geared up to support us in running our workshops just the way we want them. In the context of the setting, facilities, food and access, the value is priceless.

Kaytech prioritises the development of its people

JDF’s work with Kaytech has moved into unprecedented arenas. Having worked with Mike Sander, Kaytech’s MD, and his senior management team for more than a year, JDF has now been invited to spend 8 days a month in the development of Kaytech’s people. Embracing Leadership, Sales and Communication, the emphasis is very much on ‘Business Unusual’. Mike and his team are committed to leading the way through people, products and innovation.

Given that Kaytech, a leader in the provision of geotechnic products, employs less than 300 people, this is a massive commitment to doing business differently. Follow this link to view Kaytech’s website.

John, Kai, Anne...team...

What an incredible time this has been...a rich, personal experience. You've helped me to colour my life differently. I just did not believe enough in my worth before this: I could not find my true purpose, and recent events were dragging me down. You got me to take another look; move beyond self-awareness to the point where I could figure out what to do with the knowledge, understanding and acceptance of myself; break away from emotional paralysis and start to master my emotional state. Anyone considering the possibility of attending a Living in Full Colour workshop, I wholeheartedly recommend it. It will shine a light on the canvas that is your life, and open your mind to the full pallet of possibility in all its shades and textures. With light from others - but the brush firmly in your hand - you can start to paint your own future.
